How Our Process Works
Assess
We’ll discuss your symptoms, medical history and goals before completing a detailed musculoskeletal assessment.
Diagnosis
We’ll explain your diagnosis. Diagnostic ultrasound may be used where clinically appropriate to support treatment decisions.
Injection
If an injection is clinically appropriate and you choose to proceed, it can usually be performed during the same appointment.
Treat
If an injection is clinically appropriate and you choose to proceed, it can usually be performed during the same appointment.
Why we assess before every injection
While corticosteroid injections can be highly effective, they aren’t the right treatment for everyone. Some patients recover better with physiotherapy, rehabilitation or another treatment approach.
What Are Corticosteroid Injections?
Corticosteroid injections help reduce pain and inflammation in certain joint and tendon conditions.
They may improve movement, reduce pain and make rehabilitation more comfortable. The best results are usually achieved when combined with physiotherapy and a personalised rehabilitation programme.
Who May Benefit?
Injection treatment may be appropriate if you:
✓ Have persistent joint or tendon pain
✓ Haven’t improved with physiotherapy
✓ Need pain relief to progress rehabilitation
✓ Have pain affecting work, sport or everyday activities
✓ Have been advised that an injection may help by your GP
Every patient is individually assessed before treatment is recommended.
Are Corticosteriod Injections Safe?
Corticosteroid injections are widely used and are generally considered safe when performed by appropriately trained healthcare professionals.
As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks, including temporary discomfort, bruising, bleeding, infection or a short-term increase in pain after treatment.
Your clinician will explain the expected benefits, possible risks and alternative treatment options before any injection is provided.

Relief from joint injections can last anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the condition being treated.
Yes, your GP may refer you for a cortisone injection on the NHS, but waiting times can vary. Private injections offer faster access.
Yes, we understand that plans may change. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, kindly inform us at least 48 hours in advance, so we can accommodate your request and offer the slot to another patient. Failure to do so will result in you being charged a 50% deposit.
We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards. Payment is due at the time of your appointment.
