Daniel Thomson

Founder and Lead Physiotherapist 

MSc, BSc (Hons), MCSP, AACP

Daniel Thomson is our esteemed Founder and Lead Physiotherapist. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Physiotherapy from Leeds Beckett University. With extensive experience, he has provided exceptional physiotherapy assessment and treatment services to both inpatients and outpatients, consistently delivering positive outcomes by enhancing physical strength, cognition, mobility, and overall quality of life.

His expertise extends across core areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, encompassing both the public and private sectors, as well as professional sports settings. Before embarking on his physiotherapy journey, Daniel completed his Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Lincoln. This educational foundation allowed him to gain a profound understanding of key aspects like physiology, biomechanics, and psychology, enabling him to grasp their significant impact on sports performance, physical activity, health, and overall well-being.

At our clinic, Daniel blends his clinical physiotherapy knowledge with practical exercise science to provide holistic rehabilitation support. His aim is to offer long-term solutions to our clients. Outside the clinic, Daniel is an avid sports enthusiast, participating in various activities such as rugby, skiing, swimming, and is currently training for an Ironman event.

Emily Crispin

Lead Sports and Exercise Therapist

BSc (Hons)

Meet Emily Crispin, our Lead Sports and Exercise Therapist. She earned her Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Sports and Exercise Therapy at Leeds Beckett University. Emily has a rich background in providing sports therapy assessments and treatments to athletes across diverse settings, including professional sports teams like Bradford City FC and the Huddersfield Giants RLFC.

Emily’s specialization lies in the assessment and treatment of exercise and sports-related injuries. Her comprehensive approach combines various treatment methods, including massage techniques, neuromuscular techniques, dry cupping, strapping, and structured exercise plans. This approach allows Emily to create holistic rehabilitation plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Beyond her clinical work, Emily also offers pitch-side assistance for Ossett United FC, providing immediate trauma care to injured players. She’s an active player for Harrogate Town WFC and has a passion for bodybuilding, with aspirations to compete in the future

Fae Clarke

Senior physiotherapist

BSc (Hons), MSCP

Meet Fae Clarke, a cornerstone of our physiotherapy team whose expertise and dedication shine through in every session. Holding a first-class honors degree in Physiotherapy from Leeds Beckett University, Fae brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as a Senior Physiotherapist. Her journey encompasses a diverse range of specialties, including sports injury assessment and treatment, neurophysiotherapy, and women’s health physiotherapy.

With a commitment to excellence, Fae balances her role with the NHS as a Senior Physiotherapist, focusing on musculoskeletal care, alongside her contributions to our practice. Fae’s background includes work in women’s health, complemented by certifications such as the APPI matwork level 2 Pilates instructor and completion of the level 2 Bobath course. Fae’s holistic approach to physiotherapy underscores her deep understanding of psycho-social factors and pain neuroscience, ensuring comprehensive care for every patient.

Fae’s passion for optimizing patient outcomes extends to her meticulous approach to exercise prescription, tailored to individual needs and interests. Whether it’s Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Running, Pilates, Yoga, or CrossFit, Fae’s expertise spans a wide range of sports and rehabilitation techniques. Fae’s ability to blend clinical knowledge with empathy creates a supportive environment where patients feel empowered on their journey to recovery.

ellie Wilkinson

Senior sports therapist

BSc (Hons)

Meet Ellie Wilkinson, our Senior Sports Therapist at Light Joints Physiotherapy. Ellie graduated from Leeds Trinity University with a degree in Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation (BSc). Throughout her academic journey, Ellie actively engaged with senior physiotherapists and gained invaluable experience working with various rugby teams, including Castleford Tigers and Bradford Bulls.

Just before completing her degree, Ellie obtained her Level 4 Sports Massage qualification, enhancing her expertise in postural analysis, sports and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, soft tissue release, and muscle energy techniques. This diverse skill set allows Ellie to personalise treatments for each patient, adopting a holistic approach tailored to their specific needs.

Since graduation, Ellie has been dedicated to providing exceptional care in private practice, focusing on massage therapy, sports injury assessment, and diagnosis. Her treatment approach combines manual therapy for immediate relief with comprehensive aftercare plans and exercises, empowering patients with the knowledge to achieve long-term results and maintain peak performance.

Cameron thomson

Senior physiotherapist

Meet Cameron Thomson, one of our Senior Physiotherapists at Light Joints Physiotherapy. Cameron earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton. With experience of working in the NHS, he has proven clinical knowledge of physiotherapy assessment and treatments in a variety of healthcare settings

Before becoming a physiotherapist, Cameron achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Science at the Bournemouth University. This degree provided a sound knowledge of physiology, biomechanics and exercise prescription. This physiological foundation allows Cameron to provide a more holistic service when considering all aspects of the health and well-being of his patients.

Cameron is meticulous in his patient care and strives to demystify the treatment process through simple explanation and achievable treatment regimens to deliver long-term outcomes. Away from work, Cameron is an active sports enthusiast, playing rugby and cricket as well as skiing and hill walking.
